The Overtron

This page runs the analysis from the article "Do People Get More Conservative With Age?" in your browser. The article measures conservatism with 53 questions from the General Social Survey, chosen by a set of rules, and asks how people's answers change as they get older. But what counts as conservative depends on which questions you ask. Here you can choose your own, run the same models, and see whether the results change. The article, a technical appendix, and related pages are on the project site.

The figures appear in the same order as in the article, each as soon as its fits finish. A full run takes a few minutes. Each figure has a sentence about what the article found with the primary questions, so you can compare.
